Activation of softwood Kraft pulp at high solids content by endoglucanase and lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase

چکیده

• Softwood Kraft pulp was successfully activated by mechano-enzymatic treatments. The activation endoglucanase TrCel45A surpassed that LPMO TrAA9A. Dissolution time decreased with increasing fines, fibrillation and porosity. combination of TrAA9A halved the original dissolution time. manufacturing man-made cellulose fibers starts wood fibers. Pulps can dissolve at different rates leave amounts undissolved particles. Thus, their properties be modified to achieve better dissolution. Enzymatic treatments are an effective means enhancing dissolution, this study compares effect (TrCel45A) lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO, TrAA9A) on bleached softwood 20 % solids content. enzymes were applied individually in combination. Both increased fibrillation, fines content, porosity, water retention value, crystallinity index crystallite size, but largest changes achieved enzyme mixture. For example, fiber saturation point value 64 37 TrCel45A, 27 25 TrAA9A, 73 52 both Pulp reactivity indirectly assessed measuring cupriethylenediamine. average reference measured 642 s, while those pulps treated mixture 399, 473 298 respectively. decrease correlated increase value.

Improved impregnation efficiency and pulp yield of softwood kraft pulp by high effective alkali charge in the impregnation stage

A pulp yield increase up to 2% can be achieved by impregnation with a liquor containing 2 M effective alkali (EA) concentration instead of 1 M. The yield increase is due to higher cellulose and glucomannan contents in the pulp, which can be rationalized by less yield loss by peeling, as impregnation is more effective at an elevated EA level. A rapid loading of chips with alkali can be realized...

A fast and sensitive activity assay for lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase

Background Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMO) release a spectrum of cleavage products from their polymeric substrates cellulose, hemicellulose, or chitin. The correct identification and quantitation of these released products is the basis of MS/HPLC-based detection methods for LPMO activity. The duration, effort, and intricate analysis allow only specialized laboratories to measure LPMO...

Desorption of Metal Ions from Kraft Pulps. Part 1. Chelation of Hardwood and Softwood Kraft Pulp with Edta

Chelation of unbleached and oxygen bleached hardwood and softwood kraft pulps with EDTA was studied. The main focus was on the desorption of magnesium, manganese, and iron due to their impact in TCF-bleaching. Desorption of other metal ions present were also studied in order to get an over-all estimation of the metal ion concentrations and their desorption during chelation. By using the concept...
